Greetings from Goroka,
We are just 6 weeks away from our departure date to
return to the USA for a one year furlough. There are many things that we
would like to see accomplished before our departure:
1. The land situation at Bundi resolved
completely. The land was given for free and paperwork was signed and
notarized at the Court House. Now, 10 years later, some of the family
members want pay for the church property. Please pray that the
necessary government people would make a ruling on this and the situation will
be settled, one way or the other.
2. Timothy Barey to be voted in as pastor at
Bundi. The church has decided to wait on this until the land issue is
resolved.
3. The government to respond about the land
lease questions that we have for an airplane hangar here in Goroka.
The cleaning and packing process has begun.
All of our things will be stored away in a 20 foot sea container for
security reasons. We thought that we would have had a house sitter by
now. However, their arrival has been delayed so we have changed to plan
"B" for box things up.
The ABWE Simbai missionaries have just received a
container of supplies from the USA. This is requiring added flights during
a very busy time for us and right in the middle of rainy season here.
Thanks for your prayers for good weather to accomplish this and safety in all
that needs to be done.
The reprinting of The Jacaranda Dictionary and
Grammar of Melanesian Pidgin is completed. We have begun the
monumental task of marketing the 5000 copies that have been printed.
Praise the Lord that there is not a little interest in this book, as this is the
only dictionary available in the language of Papua New Guinea. This book
has been out of print for 30 years and is now available again for schools and
teachers to use in literacy training. Thanks to each of you for
making it possible for us to take on this printing project.
Continue to pray about our need of a vehicle and
housing in the Kansas City, Missouri area from May 2005 through March
2006.
We are also scheduling meetings to report to our
supporters. Hopefully this will come together in a way that will keep our
driving and travel time to a minimum. Please pray about this with
us.
